Making: Square patty pork burgers with roasted potatoes  1 serving prepared   Here's what I have: 4.6 oz Ground pork *Brown sugar bourbon season  1/2 cup Yukon gold potatoes  1/4 cup Extra sharp cheddar cheese  3 Button mushrooms chopped *1/2 tsp Butter *Sweet onion sea salt Homemade Pickles  Preparation: To make the patties I mixed the pork and seasoning.  Next split the meat in half then used a metal mold to make the patties square. These were mixed a few hours before dinner and then put in the fridge. After preheating the oven to 375 the potatoes were tossed in a bit of olive oil with a pinch of salt and pepper. These were roasted for 20 mins. For the topping the button mushrooms were sautéed in butter and seasoned with the sweet onion salt. When the potatoes were 10 mins away from being done the burgers cooked for 3 mins per side. After they were done cheese was added and the lid placed on the pan until the chees...

Reviewing: BBQ pork & apple meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes & roasted green beans Here's what you get: Classic BBQ sauce  Fry seasoning  Apple  Yukon Gold potato  Ground pork  Ancho chili powder  Green beans  Sour cream  Garlic  Not pictured: Panko bread crumbs (not used) Parsley Parmesan  The potatoes: This was easy, just boil and complete as the recipe directs. I added some chopped curled parsley to mine. The protein: 5 oz of the ground pork and half of the apple was used. There's a tip on the back of the card about using cheesecloth to get the extra moisture out of the Apple. I used a small sugar duster and pressed with a spoon, pictured below. Other than this change the meatloaf prep went smoothly. To eliminate gluten product I omitted the Panko crumbs and substituted 1 tbsp parmesan. Total cook time was 25 mins. The entire meal was complete by this time as well.  The Greenbeans: These w...

Reviewing: Shroom 'N' Swiss pork burgers with potato wedges & a Creamy Honey Dijon Dipper. I modified this recipe using some of the sides are prepared over the weekend. 1 serving prepared Here's what you get: Yukon Gold potatoes  Mushroom stock concentrate (not pictured) Ground pork Swiss cheese  Sour cream  Honey Dijon dressing  Not used: Button mushrooms  Potato buns  Substitutes: Shiitake mushroom  Balsamic red onions  Sweetie pepper Potato wedge seasoning 1/4 tsp each: Garlic powder  Onion powder  Pepper  Paprika  Pink sea salt  Dill  Mustard power  The potatoes: The most amount of prep time spent on these was in making the seasoning for them. Once the potatoes were cut and I had the spices measured I just mix them together drizzle the potatoes and oil and seasoned. They went into the oven first as they took the most time to cook. The protein: I had this pre-seasoned with the mushroom stock...

Reviewing:  Sweet & Smoky pork tenderloin with apple carrot slaw mashed potatoes & Cherry sauce 1 serving prepared  Here's what you get: Scallions (not pictured) White wine vinegar  Yukon Gold potatoes  Smoky cinnamon paprika spice  Cherry Jam  Mayonnaise  Shredded carrots  Pork tenderloin  Hudson River Fruit Snapdragon Apple  Sour cream The slaw: Since you don't have to shred the carrots yourself this is relatively easy, you just have the wet components to combine with the carrots.  The Apple comes in later in the process. Likely so it won't oxidize but I sliced mine early and set aside the larger chunks in some lime water. They kept just fine while I finished the rest of the process and were added last. The protein: This was straightforward, you just salt, pepper, add spice to the pork loin and pop it in the oven. The flavor came out very nice. The potatoes: While the pork was cooking I got the potatoes going...

This recipe is largely oven based making it perfect if you have other tasks to complete. The recipe can be found on the Hellofresh website.  Here's what you get: Yukon Gold potatoes  Carrots  Chives  Fry seasoning  Sour cream  Chicken cutlet  Panko bread crumbs (not used) **1/4 cup parmesan substituted  Frank's RedHot original seasoning blend Blue cheese dressing  Cholula hot sauce The potatoes: These were super easy to put together, I made them smoother than the picture suggested I ended up boiling and waiting until everything else was nearly done to finish them. Out of all the prep this took the most time to complete. The protein: Since I can't have panko, parmesan became the breading substitute. I didn't need to use butter for the...

Reviewing: Balsamic Pork with roasted green beans and rosemary potatoes. Serves 2 Here's what you get: Shallot  Yukon Gold potatoes  Green beans  Chicken stock concentrate  Rosemary  Pork tenderloin  Fig Jam  Balsamic vinegar This recipe is largely oven based which is nice if you have a day where you need to multitask. Like the first recipe from this box ingredients were pre-prepped and only one serving was prepared for this recipe. You can find the original recipe on the Hellofresh website. The potatoes:  While all of the potatoes were cut right out of the box I only used about a cup for tonight's dinner. Cooking is fairly easy you just pre-heat your oven,  get them prepared and put them in for the allotted time. I prepped and cooked the potatoes with a bit of shallots until mostly done in a cast iron skillet and removed them to continue on to the next step. *The rest of the prepped potatoes are refrigerated in water to be used ...
